Background: Underrated good quality unit from Lenovo circa 2006, budget T61   History: acquired a while back on eBay in very good condition apart from missing DVD drive retaining clip DVD drive retaining clip missing so removed screen and motherboard and installed them in another R61 base. Cooling fan dismantled, cleaned and lubricated. Thermal paste to CPU and GPU has been renewed. Last two photos show the cooling fan before and after cleaning. Installed Windows 7 Professional and updated to end of support. Installed 360 Total Security and LibreOffice. BIOS and embedded controller updated. Ethernet, WIFI, VGA, headphone, lower card bus, DVD and speakers are working, others not tested. Battery holding charge and a Lenovo wall charger is included.
